The University Psychological Counseling Unit at the College of Medicine organizes an awareness lecture entitled The Health Hazards of Drugs, presented by the unit’s head, Assist.Prof.Dr. Hassan Nasser Mohsen, with the attendance of a number of the college’s students as part of the activities of the Iraqi Drug Prevention Week.
The lecture addresses the health damages caused by drugs to the body’s various systems and functions, in addition to their psychological effects. It emphasizes that these harms are not limited to the individual but extend to the family and society, resulting in economic and security consequences.
The lecturer stresses the importance of joint efforts to curb the spread of drugs and protect youth and society from them, calling for adherence to healthy habits and positive behaviors to prevent this affliction.
