Al-Nahrain University carries out a tree-planting campaign inside the university campus in response to the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research regarding the celebration of National Afforestation Day. The campaign was attended by the University President, Prof.Dr. Ali Abdulaziz Al-Shawi, and the Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, Prof.Dr. Alaa Hussein Abd, along with departments of the university presidency and a number of university colleges.
The activities included planting a number of trees and seedlings in different locations across the campus, in addition to organizing several seminars, workshops, and awareness campaigns aimed at promoting a culture of environmental care and increasing green spaces, in line with national initiatives focused on environmental protection and combating desertification.
The Propagation Unit in the Agricultural Department of the Diwan oversaw the implementation of the tree-planting activities and the preparation of designated planting sites, in coordination with the relevant sides at the university. This aligns with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to mark National Afforestation Day and to enhance environmental awareness among students and staff.
