This center was established in 2014. The aims are concentrated on the researches of renewable energy devices in different fields. The insert of nanotechnology con-cept on these researches is the main vision of the center directions. The center in-cludes four departments: Solar energy re-search department, Wind energy re-search department, Biomass research and Management energy department.
AL-Nahrain Nanorenewable Energy Research Center (NNERC)
The main view of the center is represented by the application of nanotechnology conceptsin the related projects of the following department. This is the main feature that is distinguish from the familiar center in Iraq.

1. Solar Energy Researches Department
It is interested with the projects dealing with the application of nanotechnology in the solar energy devices. The global development is taking into account in the planning of this department; through the application of new technologies tend to investigate the nanotechnology devices
2. Wind Energy Researches Department
This department is dealing with the development in the wind energy research globally. The dependent on the technology transfer to develop the project in the wind energy especially Iraq has a large experience region in different sections. The main goal of this department is related to submit studies to ministry of electricity in Iraq to develop the electric grid.
3. Biomass Researches Department
It is dealing with the application of renewable energy produced by Biological material, through using the waste material and producing methanol gas. The department looking forward to the pioneer projects in this field through the dependance on the geological scanning of Iraq. The update planning in this field tend to produce the benefit project might be applied in the developing of energy field in Iraq
4. Management Energy Department.
This department dealing with the renewable energy projects management by the cooperation of the center represented by this department with different institutes and ministries in Iraq. This department is able to provide the consultants for the Iraqi benefits in a different field of renewable energies.
