The department of Architecture at the College of Engineering, Nahrain University participates in the scientific symposium which is held by Bayt Al-Hikma on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the passing of the pioneering Iraqi architect Muhammad Salah Makiya in accordance with the efforts which enhance the academic cooperation with the public institutions.
Here the instructor in the department,Dr.Zahra Muhammad Mosua presents a research paper entitled Iraqi Architectural Iraqi Identity during the British Mandate.
The paper addresses the prominent architectural features which appear during the royal era shedding light on effect of the British occupation on shaping the Iraqi architectural identity in this stage through an analysis of design approaches which attempt to to reconcile the local spirit with the demands of modernity.
