The academic and research collaboration between Al-Nahrain University and Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), supported and sponsored by the Iraqi Cultural Attaché in Kuala Lumpur, has resulted in the publication of a joint scientific research paper in the journal Wireless Networks, published by the internationally renowned Springer Nature. The journal is ranked in the first quartile (Q1) and indexed in the Web of Science database. The research is published entirely free of charge, with no publication fees imposed.
This achievement marks the first tangible outcome of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two universities, which lay the foundation for establishing six joint research groups comprising a distinguished group of researchers and specialists working to develop innovations and exchange scientific expertise.
The research, titled Artificial Intelligence for Power Optimization in Bluetooth Low Energy Wearables: A Narrative Review, explored the application of artificial intelligence techniques to improve energy efficiency and reduce power consumption in smart wearable devices powered by Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology.
This distinguished scientific work is carried out by an international research team comprising Dr. Qusay Al-Nuaimi, Dr. Ahmed Faiq Hussein, and Dr. Wajdi Sadiq Aboud from Al-Nahrain University; Associate Professor Dr. Firas Basim Ismail Al-Nuaimi from Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), Malaysia; and Dr. Saeed Mahmoud Al-Sharafa from Middle East University (MEU) in Jordan.
For its part, the Iraqi Cultural Attaché in Kuala Lumpur extends its congratulations and best wishes to the administrations of both universities and the participating researchers, commending their significant efforts, which reflect the advanced academic capabilities of Iraqi scholars and demonstrate their ability to build impactful international research partnerships. Such collaborations contribute to the advancement of higher education and enhance the academic rankings of Iraqi universities.
